A third class lever has the effort in the middle. An excellent example of a third class lever is a catapult.
Set up your third class lever as shown below. It helps to have a person hold the fulcrum and the lever arm together as you lift the lever.
The effort arm is between the effort and the fulcrum.
The resistance arm is between the effort and the resistance.
